Travel to india on OPT-Oklahoma state University

I will be graduating in Dec 2013. After that my OPT period will begin. I want to go India in January for a month. I haven't yet applied for OPT.

 

My questions

1) If my OPT start date is 1st feb,2014, how safe is travelling to India with consultancy offer letter?

2)If my OPT start date is 1st feb,2014, how safe is travelling to India with company offer letter?

3) If my OPT start date is 1st jan,2014, how safe is travelling to India with consultancy offer letter but job start date 1st Feb, 2014?

4) If my OPT start date is 1st jan,2014, how safe is travelling to India with company offer letter but job start date 1st feb,2014?

5)If my OPT start date is 1st feb,2014, how safe is travelling to India without offer letter?

6) how safe is travelling to India on OPT period with any job letter. I mean overall for my University?

Once you are in OPT, you cannot travel and return to look for a job. You can return to either start or resume the job. If you spend any time outside the US, that will count towards your 90 day unemployment limit.

If you apply for F1 visa on OPT, it would be worse, since it highly likely they will put you on 221g and it will be delayed and your unemployment period will be counting....

 

Better travel before your OPT starts, if you can. With valid visa and OPT, it is OK to return, but sometimes there are news that people are stopped at port of entry when they were on OPT.

 

The idea of OPT is getting practical training, not a pleasure trip.
