shailesh030 Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 I am on L1A from company A and the customer company B had applied for H1B with COS starting October 1. H1B is approved and I am having 2nd thoughts of joining on H1. I believe, I have to go out of the country on September 30th and return after October 1st on existing L1A with a new I94 to nullify the change of status. But I am confused on travelling to which of the closest country to US except Canada will get me a new I94. Canada needs a visitor visa for me to travel & strike in their consulate has delayed visa issuance. Will Mexico be an option? Can you please advise
shailesh030 Posted August 15, 2013 Author Report Posted August 15, 2013 I am not sure when returning from Mexico, a new I-94 is issued or not? While travelling to some south american countries like Bahamas and puerto-rico, they let travellers keep old I-94. Hence I wanted to know if Mexico is an option or not
JoeF Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 For travel to Mexico or Canada for less than 30 days, you keep your I-94. That's called AVR (Automatic Visa Revalidation.) THat's been done for a long long time, since at least the 90ies.
catchgul Posted August 16, 2013 Report Posted August 16, 2013 I answered your question in your other post.
