akrao23
Hi, I am on OPT now and H1B approved starts this October 1st. I am working for client in location A from 1 year and employer is in location B(A and B are in different states). My employer is running my pay checks in his location(B). I asked him about this, he said as he is controlling all my job he can run at his location. Also telling that LCA is for just work authorization at that location and minimum salary. Not mandatory to run pay check at LCA's state. Is that true? I am planning to got for stamping this December. Will this be a problem for me? Can anyone suggest me best answer if VO asks about this? Thanks in Advance! Link to comment
tmdvd07
Definitely at client location. Link to comment
omshiv
It should be at the Client location...in other words where you are located. Seems like a shady employer, who's trying to save some Tax $$$. Link to comment
H1BJourney
Neither Employer or Client location. It should be your residence address(where you are living). Link to comment
oracle_1982
Paycheck has to run from client location state. Link to comment
chakrakr
When you say "running at his location" what do you mean ? Do you mean the company address shows State B ? That is fine. Your address should show state A AND Tax should be deducted for state A. Link to comment
Guest
not in employer location...few employers in tax free stated do that...for consultants its very important to run payroll in the city u stay based on ur address...not at employer location... Link to comment
sthamago
Previously it was residence location but now it is should be at Client Location Link to comment

akrao23
Thank you all for reply. My address on pay check is my old address where i used to live for earlier project. He is using same address as it is in employer state. Its 4 hrs drive from my current client address. I have 2 questions- 1. Can i say like i stay i address provided but i go to client by staying in some temporary address? and i report to employer once in a week? 2. I am in OPT still now, Is there any way to explain VO if i able to run pay check from Oct 1st(H1B starts) in current state.? Sorry if my questions are crazy. Please suggest.. Link to comment
H1futuristic
There can't be any Client's address/location mentioned in any paycheck. Paycheck has only your residence address where you're living & if you're working in 'A' ,obviously you must be living in 'A' unless if you're working remotely & your paycheck should show 'A', period! 100% sure, none of the paycheck shows Client location address!! Its your residence address. Link to comment
