I 94 from company B working for company A

Hi All,

 

I am currently working for company A on H1-B . Recently my H1 was transfer happened to company B with out I 94 . They asked me to travel and get I 94 before I join them . So I traveled to Mexico and got new I 94 based on New petition from company B . Now company B said they still looking for position . I am still working for company A with I 94 from company B . Is it allowed ? Or I need to again travel out of country and get I 94 based on my current company A. Could you please let me know . I am confused.
