Enter on F1 if H1b not stamped?

I am currently working on OPT F1 visa. I got my H1b approved and I am going for stamping in October. I wanted to know that if my h1 does not get stamped can I still enter US on my F1/ OPT or does it get cancelled automatically on 1st Oct?

Usually, when you attend H1 interview they cancel your F1.
