Work for a different employer on L1A

Hi,

 

Currently I am on L1A with company A. Is there a possibility that I can work for company B without a H1B visa. Had it been a H1B visa, I understand that it can be transferred. Just wondering if L1A has any possibility like that. I also understand that I can apply for H1B next year, but that means I will have to wait till next year October, and would not want to wait that long.

I do not think you can

On L1, you can ONLY work for your employer.

On H1, you can ONLY work for the employer who filed the H1.
