sathya1412 Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Hi, I applied for COS from H4 to F1 on May 31st,2013. It's been two months and a week with USCIS. I need to expedite my case as my H4 status expires on Aug 20 ,2013 and without valid H4 and pending application for F1 , my college authorities are not sure if i can attend the classes as planned.My department has given me a week's time to show up for classes. If I wait for my F1 decision , then drop out of classes after a week I may lose a part of fees as penalty. Also If I withdraw my application and try to fly back home for a visa , I am not sure if I can find possible visa appointment date before school . It may also incur me few bucks loss. With these reasons can I file for a expedition in my case now with USCIS. ? Will filing an expedition cause any negative effect on my file decision (consequences) . Thanks in advance. Regards.
jairichi Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Normal wait time for a COS is 2.5 weeks. If you had not received any RFE I believe you would be receiving your approval in 7 to 10 days. But, it is always better to keep other options open. I am not sure whether you could expedite COS processing. Wait for other members input
