Tust326 Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 Hello all My H1 and my wife’s H4 expires end of September. I am applying for H1 extension by capturing the time (4 Months) that I took vacation. My wife also needs her H4 to be extended and have asked my lawyer to file along with mine. But she charges more for that. I was wondering if I can file her H4, simultaneously with my H1, without going through the lawyer? And where do we send the application that’s close to the Los Angeles area? If the visa gets approved, do we need to go outside the country to get it stamped and get a new I-94 as well? My PERM is in process and have to extend my H1 again after I-140 approval. Too much cost on lawyer and immigration as my company is not paying on all these. Thanks for your time and suggestion.
omshiv Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Better get an attorney involved in any immigration matters..you don't want to mess up your status here
Tust326 Posted August 12, 2013 Author Report Posted August 12, 2013 Thank you. Well I have seen people saying filing H4 extension is easy and can be done ourself. Does anyone agree with me. Thank you for your input.
omshiv Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 Dude...its easy and you may also save some $$. But imagine if something goes wrong then it will screw up the status. More than financial loss it will be a major stress for you and your family in case of any mistake. That's my understanding.
