rahul412 Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 I have M.Tech (indian Masters ) in Materials Science and have 5 years of IT experience (3.5 years in india and 1.5 in US). i am eligible for EB2? Does that job requires master's degree?? Is you master's degree related to that job field??
JoeF Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 For EB2, the job has to require an advanced degree. You could have a PhD, if the job only requires a bachelor degree, the case would still be in EB3.
omshiv Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 To answer your question - Yes you are eligible for EB2...but as others said the Job desc would require you to be fit for EB2.
shandan Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 Yet another way to state what has already been stated by JoeF anf omshiv is: If you find a job which requires Advanced Degree / Experience as requirement for EB2 category. And if you qualify based on your Education / Experience for that job. Then GC application for such Job will fall in EB2 category. If the job requirements does not meet EB2 criteria then GC application against that job will not qualify for EB2 classification, while your education / experience makes you eligible for a EB2 classified job. in that scenario you would not an ideal fit for the job as you are clearly over qualified, so find a job which matches your education / experience levels and will qualify for EB2 qualification. Hopefully this will give you better understanding, that it is not your education / experience which will decide the EB classification, instead it is the job itself.
