H1B stamping in Matamoros, Mexico

Hi,

 

I am in my 7th year H1B extension ( I140 pending from 16 months), I am working in EVC model.

My client is willing to provide the supporting letter for my stamping.

Is it safe to go to matamoros for stamping?

As far as I know, It'd not be safer to go for stamping at Maxico nevertheless if you hold US degree, Its better to go Canada. H1B extension would be easier there I believe.

There is no logical reason ad2010 but Its saying that in Canada its comparatively advisable when it comes to Mexico. Also, If I'm not wrong, now you can't go to Mexico for H-1B stamping if you're having Indian Passport or other country.

Its better to go matamoros for stamping, there is no such rule that Indian passport holder cannot go mexico for stamping....

I went to H1 extension on July 15th and got it without any issues. There we 3 other ppl with me on that day and all got their visas. See my other posts for more details.

 

We went through a travel agent who provides transportation services. So, no safety issues unless you are looking for trouble like gng out at late night which is not recommended even by the agent. 

 

You can go to Mexico for H1 stamping even if you have Indian passport but NO F1-H1 status change .Only H1 extensions. But get a Mexico visitors visa before you go to Mexico. It takes a day or two. All big cities in US have Mexican embassies

I agree to Kranthi's comments, as I myself got my H1 restamping done in Matamoros-Mexico yesterday. It's safe and the passport was returned on the same day. Was back in Texas within 2 days.
