GC Filing for L1B from different employer

Hello,

 

    I'm on L1B visa with employer A who is not doing my GC filing and I found another employer B who is willing to file my GC. Can this be done ? 

 

    The employer B says that I would have to be on his payroll when its in the I140 stage. Not sure how it is possible. 

 

    Can someone help me understand if it is really possible for employer B to file a GC when I'm with employer A. Should i file my GC with employer B. 

 

    Please give the instructions/roadmap on this. Much appreciated.

GC is for future employment so obviously B can file your GC.
