rohan123456 Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 My OPT F1 status is nearing end due to 90-day unemployment and visa is still under admin process. for nearly 40 days. I read it here (http://www.***************) that if there is a delay in visa at embassy, USCIS extends the status. But it is not authoritative. Can anyone give an authoritative yes or no. I hardly expect it will be true.
livliv Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 Actually USCIS has nothing to do with it. This is managed by your SEVIS record, so ICE and your school DSO will manage it. CBP will handle the POE arrival. I think after get the Visa and before you travel, confirm with your school's DSO that your SEVIS record active or not.
JoeF Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 And visas are handled by the Department of State, the consulates are part of DoS. USCIS again has absolutely nothing to do with that.
