kred2 Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Hi Folks, I have got a very good information on the visa interview questions from a lot of posts. First of all thanks to one and all who have taken time to post their experience in detail. I am currently working for a IT company but my background is a non-IT field. I did my bachelors in Biotechnology and Masters in Biomedical Sciences. So in my case if the VO asks me how my field of study is related to the current job, what would be the best answer to give him? I am hoping that there would be someone similar to my case attended the interview already. Appreciate if someone could help me on this. Thanks in advance!
jairichi Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 This answer has to be from you. It is you who is working in that position. When you joined how did you think that your educational qualification is a match for the job description? What has your employer/attorney got to say? I suggest you better avoid going for a visa stamping. This is my personal opinion. Advanced members would be able to give you their opinions. Wait for those.

According to H1 rules, your degree should be related to your job. Since your H1 was approved by USCIS, I am not sure who is wrong here. Coming to your question, you have to convince the vo that you are eligible for this job without lying. Their is no 'best' answer here.
kred2 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Report Posted July 31, 2013 Here's how I got my OPT and then H1. After my graduation I joined a IT company and worked as a SAS research analyst where I had a opportunity to work with Satistical data in databases and learned SQL, Unix and few programming languages . After that I took training on a IT course (Informatica) and even got a professional certification on that. I got my first H1 with a 1 and half yrs experience in hand and certification as an added value. I got a H1 extension last week for 1 year as well. Taking this into consideration do you experienced folks think my situation is worth a visit to Canada for stamping?

It doesn't matter were you attend the interview, just tell them what you have told in the earlier post if they ask you anything related to that.
