New H1 from India --> 221g --> Transfer Approved --> Need to go for stamping again

Hi everyone,

Little background of my case :

I got my new H1(my first every US visa petition of any class) filed in April 2012.

Got the approval in Feb 2013 (after 2 RFEs). Went for stamping April 2nd week 2013 in Hyderabad, India.

Received 221g. It was in an in-house product being developed. Even though I had given the documents the officer had asked for, during the stamping interview, the consular officer had her doubts. So, I was issued a 221g and 2 weeks later received a mail asking me to submit some document about the employer.

I had been bugging my employer since then to send across the document as I thought it was no big deal for him to give me that document given it was a genuine product being developed there.

But he had not responded to me for more than 3 months which is when I had decided to find a new employer.

And I found a new employer. Cap exempt visa applied with premium processing. Got the approval within a week's time.

Now, my questions

1.) I understand that to go for a new visa stamping, I need to ask the consulate to revoke the previous stamping application (through email). How long does it usually take for them to mark it invalid? (so that I can plan to go for this new employer, transferred h1's stamping asap)

2.) I haven't received any follow-up mails from the consulate after the one that I received back then (asking me to submit that document). Is it safe to assume the action is on me only and it's not been sent to USCIS for revocation already or something?

3.) Do I have to do the whole process all-over again? Meaning, fill a new DS160, pay the application fee :), create another profile, schedule a new appointment, go for the finger-print (/biometrics scan) again? And then go for the actual stamping? (Any URLs here to guide do things will be immensely helpful).

4.) Lastly, the most important thing - How do I tackle the most obvious question: about my previous 221g?

Any help provided, any similar experiences encountered, any pointers at all will be of great help. Thank you.
