MeenalGarg
Hi I shifted to USA in Jan-13 with L2 visa. At the time of entry my passport was expiring in Dec-2013, hence the I-94 was granted till Dec-2013. I have renewed my passport and it is now valid till 2023. However, my I-94 still carries the date till Dec 2013. 1) My question is "how should I get my I-94 renewed?" I am not planning to visit outside USA till Dec 2013. I did some research and understood that there are two ways: a) Go to San Diego-Mexico border. I am not sure if this will work. Please advice. b) Filing I-539 form. I have certain queries in this: After reading through the instruction given on USIC site, I understand that my husband's I-129, I-94 and marriage certificate is required. Do I have to submit in original or copies will suffice? My I-94 will be retained by USIC officials or it will be given back to me? USIC site says it may take average time of 2.5 months. Is this true or general time is more or less than this? Is there any way that I can go to USIC office and ask them to update my I-94 based on my new passport? Please suggest me the best and fastest option. 2) After renewal of I-94, I need to renew my EAD also. What is the procedure of the same and how long will this take. Thanks in advance for your help. pontevecchio
file your extension. Do not send originals unless specifically asked for. Keep extra copies of all documents. Apply for the EAD the same way you did the first time. Link to comment
