zak74
Can I work using 1099 when I have EAD and eligible for AC21? When I use AC21, is it possible for my original sponsoring employer to revoke my I-140 or hinder my GC process in anyway? Thanks H Link to comment
pontevecchio
Yes. Revoke, Yes. Most companies would not bother. Hinder, Unlikely. Link to comment
tusharvk
companies may revoke just to protect themselves from having to give you a job after the GC approved. Link to comment
Belle
companies may revoke just to protect themselves from having to give you a job after the GC approved. They don't have to give you a job when the green card is approved. There is absolutely no obligation to do that. Link to comment

Belle
Belle, Thanks for the response. Can I work using 1099 when using EAD/AC 21? You can use EAD to work on 1099. It's not clear from your description if the job would qualify for AC21. Link to comment

Hi Belle, The job will be same as my current job and the one mentioned in LC. I just wasn't sure if I can work on 1099 as my primary job without any employer. Isn't that like freelance contractor? Is it allowed in EAD? Link to comment

You are allowed to work for any employer in any capacity on EAD. Regarding AC21, you need to work it out with a lawyer. Link to comment
