Work using 1099 when on EAD and AC21?

Can I work using 1099 when I have EAD and eligible for AC21?

 

When I use AC21, is it possible for my original sponsoring employer to revoke my I-140 or hinder my GC process in anyway?

Yes.

 

Revoke, Yes. Most companies would not bother.   Hinder,  Unlikely.

They don't have to give you a job when the green card is approved. There is absolutely no obligation to do that.

You can use EAD to work on 1099.

 

It's not clear from your description if the job would qualify for AC21.

I just wasn't sure if I can work on 1099 as my primary job without any employer. Isn't that like freelance contractor?

You are allowed to work for any employer in any capacity on EAD.

 

Regarding AC21, you need to work it out with a lawyer.
