New Job in same company

Hi All,

 

I am hoping to switch over to a new job within the same company.

 

Currently I have an approved I140 in almost the same profile as the new job.

 

I asked my immigration folks whether a new GC process will need to be started and they said since the title is different it will require "amendement to H1B".

 

They also asked for breakup of job duties in percentage between the current and new profile to which I replied and they said based on that a new PERM is not needed.

 

My question is whether thats a definitive answer (like me providing them that breakup) and will that suffice going forward without filling a new PERM and get the GC using the process which was started earlier in the older job(current job).

 

What is the process associated with such a move?
