ottawa_rocks
My wife has CORRECT LAST NAME on PASSPORT(indian), STATE ID (state B) and i-797, but as we moved to a different State C, and went to get the driving permit test done for her, the DMV people said that IMMIGRATION RECORDS has her LAST NAME AS: there was 1 WRONG ALPHABET in her LAST NAME ---> THEY SAID PLEASE contact USCIS to get it CORRECTED I told them aren't you guys using the SAME IMMIGRATION DATABASE SYSTEM to check for NAME's as this state ID (from state B) that she has the CORRECT LAST NAME, she DID NOT reply to that (being politically correct of-course). I read this link: people are saying only time you can have your NAME change done is during AOS ? (Adhustment of status) ? So if she jumps to F1, only then we can have it changed ? http://www.***************************/ 1 person made appointment to INFOPASS USCIS office as well and was told the same .....PLEASE ADVICE GUYS Closest INFOPASS USCIS office is 280 miles from where we are :( Link to comment

pontevecchio
Why would a Lawyer be the last bet? Kidding aside possibly your uncle could pick up the tab if you are short. Link to comment
ottawa_rocks
hahha...you all are obsessed about the undoubtedly and astoundingly "FISHY" uncle ==> joef's favorite word used at-least 2000 times in his odd 10+k posts etc... Uncle likes to flip the bills on gadgets not immigration matters otherwise i would have been adopted long back...haha Link to comment

ottawa_rocks
There is NO mistake in the i-94 ....please help !! Link to comment
pontevecchio
This is not a name change. If you do not seriously want to involve a Lawyer who will know many more ways to deal with the situation, it would be serious mistake. Go back and apply again. If no joy ask calmly and specifically to speak to a supervisor. Ask the Supervisor what will make the matter go away and how. PC or BS has nothing to do with the matter. As a matter of Interest which state is involved? Link to comment

I wish you have read my comments and postings more carefully, i was referring to Infopass USCIS office (300 miles away) and not DMV (barely 3 miles) Link to comment
