L1B to H4 to H1

Hi,

 

My husband is planning to switch to my H4 till he finds job and is able to file his H1.

Since the H4 generally takes 3-4 months to get approved, wanted to know what will happen if we file for his H1 sometime next month while H4 application is still in submitted state.

 

Can we mention to revoke H4 while applying for H1?
