H1b Visa stamping with existing visa still valid

Currently I have a valid visa until september, I got my new 797 approval till 2016 and I want to go to visa stamping this month or next month.

If for some reason the visa stamping doesn't go well, will my current visa be still valid and can I enter US?

I guess if they put 221G then they will not cancel the current visa but if they denied then they will ensure that you can not go back to US that means they will revoke the existing visa.   Please check with your attorney before leaving US.
