I 140 Security Check

I have filed my I 140 in June 2012,  initially i got RFE around september to send my pay stubs. My lawyer send all the required documents. I couldn't get update from USCIS even after 4 months, so i asked lawyer to check my case. Lawyer contacted USCIS and USCIS told lawyer that they are currently processing older applications. After 2 months later i.e. June 2013 my lawyer received a document from USCIS that my application is under Security Check. I don't know whats happening completely worried. 

 

Wanted to check with all of you below things. 

 

1) What is security check

2) How long does security check take

3) My 6 years of H1b would be done by 2014, will i get extension after 6 years or do i need to go back to home country

4) Is it better to start again my GC process from scratch with different employer.

Hi Ram,

Can you please let me know if you got any update on you case? Or did you move to a different employer?

Recently my employer mentioned that my i140 is in security review by uscis and btw my case is in pending for more than 1 year.

Was there any outcome for your I 140 security check. It seems my I 140 application was also in security check. So wondering what could be the reasons. Are you aware of any such reason from your side? Please let me know your stauts.
