Change of JOB before 485 approval

Guys,

 

I am on EAD. My PD became current in the AUG bulletin. Assuming my 485 will get approved any time after August 1st, Can I change employer before 1st August? Though I don't have intentions to change job until next year, I would like to resign and get a hike which is due for a long period.  I am 99% sure they would call me for discussion. What if my luck is bad and they let me go?

 

Murthy madam says Job offer should exist prior to 485 approval. I just want get a second opinion.

 

BTW I am critical resource in my project.

You are allowed to change employers with portability of sponsorship if your I-485 has been pending over 180 days and your new job is similar to the old one. Read about AC21.

that means it is not advisable to change job right away after approval..
