H1 to H4 COS

Hi,

I have applied for my H1 to H4 COS in first week of June and am still waiting for an approval. My H1 is expiring end of July.

1. Can I continue to stay in US until last week (around 22nd-23rd July) and exit (if need be) then?.

2. Based on this, can I use a week's time remaining on my H1 to get my H1 extension? In that case, I would not have to apply for a new H1?

3. Also, I max out by July end but I have a valid I94 for H1 until Sept 2013. Can I continue to work?
