popoi2013
My current 3-yr-term H1B will be expired on 9/30/13. My employer applied for extension in April this year and it is still on "initial review" as of today 7/9/13. I'm planning to travel abroad to visit my family on 8/1/13 and return to US on 8/18/13. So that's mean I will return a month before the expiration date on my current H1-B. Would I get into trouble if I travel abroad while my H1-B extension is pending? Link to comment
jobas2007
In my opinion, it is advisable to stay in U.S. while your extension is under processing. Your leaving of U.S. would cause your current I-94 to be "In-Active", the same that was submitted to USCIS, to get returned with extended date along with H-1b approval. I would suggest you to contact your attorney, before you decide to travel. Link to comment

It is 4 months since your H1B extension has been filed. Any idea why this huge delay? Link to comment
