suresharu
Hi I am currently on H4 Visa and I understand it is illegal to take any job which pays or with indirect benefits. But, I got an opportunity to work as an "Intern" in an organization which is not a non-profit. I won't be paid any compensation or will not be recruited by them in the future once my status changes. This is only for me to keep in touch with technology and use the experience in the future. Can I take it?. Appreciate your response. Thanks Link to comment

A person on H4 can NOT work for a for-profit company at all. And there are things like minimum wage, so working without compensation may be illegal because of that as well. If you are in computer science, you could "keep in touch with technology" by participating in open source development, for example. Link to comment
