AC 21 process and present I-485 application

I am planning to join another company using AC 21 process. My I-485 has been pending for more than a year. The question - What happens if AC 21 doesn't go through smoothly, does your old I-485 get into jeopardy as well assuming that old employer hasn't withdrawn 1-140?

 

Please let me know, before I make the plunge....
