pkannojoo
Hello All - Any help will be greatly appreciated. One of my friend, came from India on Vistor's visa. He is here for sometime (15 days), he wants to get F1 visa. So, he has applied for one of the private university and got I20. I heard that one could get F1 visa stamped in Canada but I'm not sure. I would like to know if this is possible at all. If so, what will be risk? Steps in sequence he'll be following - 1. He has to get visiting visa to Canada. 2. Stamping appointment 3. If stamping goes well, good 4. If not, what will be risk? 4a. Will the current visitor visa get's cancelled too? 4b. Can she enter back into USA with existing I-94? 4c. Will she get new I-94? Once again - any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Prahlad. Link to comment

pkannojoo
He has to go back to India to get F1 stamped. Thanks OmShiv, I heard (from reliable sources) that somebody got F1 stamped in Canada (from B1/B2) in January 2013. Unfortunately I couldn't get hold of them. Hence, posting here to find out if there is any way to do it. Thanks, Prahlad. Link to comment

pontevecchio
The risk is of denial and having to go to India from there if that is the case. The consulate staff follow the same guidelines everywhere. It will be difficult to judge lack of Immigrant Intent in Canada. Link to comment
