Please advise! H1B Transfer and Stamping

Hi,

Yesterday, I was talking to a gentleman who advised me about my H1 transfer. I wanted to confirm the same with you and take your inputs as well.

Currently I work for Company A. It has only two H1B employees including me. I've got my first H1B approved for 3 years. However, I'm kind of in secure with this company while thinking about my future prospects. I'm under impression of changing to Company B and go for stamping in Jun 2014.

But, the above gentleman said, its not a good way of changing to Company B before stamping. According to him we should have atleast one year continuous employment track record with same employer who filed H1B before going to stamping. I understand his point but I'm thinking one year is too long for me to work with same company. I'm not sure how far this is true.

Please advise.  Thanks in advance!

Nope, that's utter BS. You can resign from that job at ANY time. That's your wish.

Advice: Do not switch to your new job before your H1 is approved.

Sorry, I didn't get your new last point, Advice. As mentioned earlier, my H1B is approved.

Thanks for your reply.

If you move to Company 'B', do not join until your H1 transfer is approved.
