sumanth123
Hi, I am currently working under my OPT, which is valid till Dec 2013, with an option for extension. I have applied for H1B but had to withdraw the application for some personal reasons. I recently got married and want to bring my spouse to US. Is it advisable for my spouse to apply for F1 visa since I have read F2 visa has a higher percentage of rejections (she is currently applying to universities for spring semester)? Will there be a problem if my spouse applies for F1 visa when I am working in US, will the consular officer think that my spouse is using F1 visa to just enter US, and not genuinely interested in studying? Will my H1B application and withdrawal have any effect, if my spouse applies for F2 visa? Thanks! Link to comment
JoeF
If your spouse wants to study, then she would have to apply for a degree program at a university, and if she gets approved, she can get an F1. That will take quite some time, since the deadlines for fall quarter/semester are over. Link to comment
t75
Your h1B has no effect. She should apply for F1 only if she intends to study. Link to comment
