Immigrant visa to US under IR-1

Dear friends,

 

I recently got married to a US citizen with registration under the special marriage act.

Now, our next step is to get IR-1 visa. Could any one please guide me through the process?

What are the papers and precautions required?

Also, include if there are any layers in India who can help us in this regard.

I will also like to mention, I will complete my two year mandatory period ithis June, after my J1 visa expired in June 2011.

Just a quick question.

 

My wife who is the sponsor of my CR1 visa was a student till May 2013 and started working as a resident physician since July 2013. Since the sponsor has to provide 3 year tax filings, which as a student will was nothing. Will this affect the application and if so how?

Just a quick question.

Since my wife is the sponsor of my CR1 visa. She was a medical student till May 2013 and later in July she started her job as resident physician. And as a sponsor she has to provide 3 years tax filling which as a student for last 4 years will be nothing. How will this affect the application and if so how? She has the employment contract letter, bank statements and salary stubs to provide for. Will this help?

Hi,

 

As required for the CR-1 Visa application, I have applied for the PCC.

Do I need to apply for the same from the local area police station in the US where I stayed earlier for two years?
