Achtung
My EB-2 consular processing interview is coming up and I am unsure of what documents to carry. All my required civil documents were already sent to NVC. I will have an updated employment verification letter and copies of all civil docs. I do not have a copy of the PERM and I-140 - my employer and lawyer tell me that the embassy will receive these from NVC. I currently work and reside outside the US, though have lived in the US before. What documents should I be taking to the interview? Does anyone have a comprehensive list? Thanks Link to comment
pontevecchio
Take the documents mentioned in their letter. Usually CP is a formality. Link to comment
JoeF
Note that the employment offer letter needs to be notarized. Way back when I did CP I carried tax return copies, etc., but they never asked for them. As pontevecchio mentions, the CP interview is usually just a formality. It took all of 5 minutes in my case... Achtung
Thanks, I will ask my employer to notarize it. I have gathered tax returns, prior h1 approvals, and education docs to take with me just in case. Really can't think of anything else. Link to comment
Achtung
Is an I-134 affidavit of support required for employment based consular processing? I have dependent family members and I am unsure of whether I should be taking an I-134? Thanks Link to comment
JoeF
An I-134 is NEVER used for immigrant cases. For family-based immigrants, an I-864 is needed. For employment-based immigrants, the job offer is needed. That's it. Link to comment
