Visa approved @ Ottawa June 11th

Hi Everyone, I had my interview today at Ottawa consulate at 10:30 am, below is my experience

 

> reached consulate around 10 am

 

>cleared security

 

>gave passport, ds160, i797 and passport size photographs to one lady who then put all documents together and sticked photograph to my ds-160, she then suggested to go to counter 7 where the lady inside the counter will take your passport and will handover you the token number and couple of docs to read.. this took about 10 mins

 

>after about 10 mins I was called at counter 6, here they take your finger prints 

 

>around 10:50am my token number was called at counter 4 (at this point I was little surprised coz my token number was 108 and a person with token 100 was sitting right in front of me and few more people who were ahead of me didnt get their number called) well whatever.. 

 

>guy with the beard took my interview and it lasted for about 2 mins

 

How long have you been in the states ?

->4 years and after few seconds said 10 months

 

Who do you work for ?

-> xxx 

 

What do you do ?

->Network Engineer

 

what do you do for your employer ?

->said Network Engineer again but VO was expecting me to tell responsibilities 

told 4 points about my role 

(at this point I was hoping the VO to ask me for i129/lca/h1bsupp but he seemed not interested)

 

Do your parents live with you ?

->No, they live back in India 

 

Any relatives in US ?

->No (actually I do have relatives in US) 

 

How long you are going to work in US?

->told him my h1b expiry month and year

 

What you gonna do after that ?

->apply for extension

 

VO said " we are approving your visa collect it after 2-3 days". VO didn't ask me even for a single document.

 

May be I got lucky but the person who I am sharing the room with had his appointment on 10th june and he got 221G for client verification. Also met another guy who had his interview on 4th June also received 221G. 

They both went to counter 2 and had same VO interview them.

Can you please tell us what was the employee model of the other guys you met and also yours,

Mine is EVC, other guys also EVC. 

 

Only difference is they went to counter 2 and I went to 4.

Do we need to submit the DS160 form online or just fill and take it with us. I am a bit confused as it also asks for digital photo upload.

 

Can you also provide me with the list of documents you took to the interview.

yes you need to submit the form online. Don't worry about the digital photo if you can't upload it. 

Carry 2 - 2x2 photographs with you. I was able to upload a digital photo to my ds160 application but I still took 2 photographs.
