confused_F1 Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Hi Experts, I want to apply for H4 stamping in my home country. I have a valid F1 visa and I am working on OPT. I need to travel to my home country so I want to get my H4 stamped. If I get a 221g , Can I travel back on F1 or will it be cancelled when I apply for H4? Thanks
pontevecchio Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Once you return in H4 status the OPT is gone.
confused_F1 Posted June 7, 2013 Author Report Posted June 7, 2013 On returning with H4 visa stamped . I have no issues of F1 ending. But When I go for stamping will they cancel F1 right away ? I just want to be on the safe side that if my h4 goes for 221g I can come back on F1 .

MyProfile Posted June 9, 2013 Report Posted June 9, 2013 Why don't you come back on F1 status instead of going for H4 visa. I think that is safe. You can go for H4 visa stamping if you have to go to India after your OPT expiration.
