H1B and Passport Renewal

Hi,

I have my indian passport expiring in Aug, 2013.

My H1B visa stamp on my passport expired in Dec 2011.

I have a valid I-797 (approval of status) valid until Dec 2014.

I am going to file an application for renewal of my Indian passport.

With an expired visa, I would provide a notarized photocopy of I-797 approval notice.

Would that suffice.

Any advice in this regard from the immigration attorneys or members who have experieenced this before would be greatly appreciated.
