can I have H1B and L1B sametime?

Right now I am on L1-B from ABC company & L1-B visa expiring date is SEP 29,2013 , XYZ company Applied for H1 and picked in lottery, which is going to effect from OCT 2013(Still in Initial review status)

Now ABC company is willing to apply for L1 Extension, Can I have H1B & L1B sametime.

So that I can decide later which one to go.

Is it legal to apply L1B extension, when H1B decision is pending?

If I applied for L1, did H1 get cancelled or they will stop L1 processing or what are the possibilities?

Suppose if H1 approved first & after sometime L1B approved, then I can continue with ABC company with my L1?

You can only have ONE status while in the US.THe last action rule applies, i.e., the last approved petition counts.
