L1B expired but I-94 valid. Can we apply for COS from L1B to L1A

Hi,

I came to US on L1B and my VISA expired already but i am on I-94 and working here.

My I-94 expiry date is in Oct 2014.

As i am doing a manager role, Can i apply for change of status(COS) from L1B to L1A even though my VISA expired.

Please clarify.

Generally speaking, the expiration date of a visa has no impact on a person's status in the U.S., and does not prevent a foreign national from requesting a change of status.
