Can we travel to India

Hi

My wife is currently studying on H4. She plans to travel to India but we plan to apply for F1 visa before she travels to India.

I had a doubt if we can travel when Change of status is going on .

is it fine to travel while this is going on ...

I don't think so. When she is out of US,she doesn't have any status, so that COS doesn't make any sense.

You mean she is applying for a COS to F1 while in the country. She is not applying for a F1 visa as you cannot get a visa while in the USA. If she is applying for a COS she cannot leave before approval. Even in that case she needs the F1 visa stamp to return.

Travel with pending COS cancels it. She can get stamping; if she is a legitimate student with proper funding, there is nothing to fear.
