Urgent: F1-opt laidoff and h1 pending

Hi

I was laidoff on my F1-opt(which expires in december) and my application for h1b is still pending.

My ex-employer has agreed not to cancel my H1b application to give me more time to find a job.

Can i do a H1-transfer to another company even before oct 1 2013, once my h1b is approved?

Or

what are my possible options?

I was working for 'company A' on OPT extension(expires in dec 2013)

'company A' applied for H1b on april 2013 and is now in pending status.

I was laid off last week, but HR said they will not report my layoff till my H1 application gets approved(hopefully).

So now can I work for 'company B' (on opt) and once my H1b gets approved(hopefully in next 1 month) get my h1b transferred to the new employer?
