Valid I-94, L1B/L2 near expiry and EAD in process

Hi,

I have some queries regarding our current immigration status.

Our (me and my husband) have valid I-94 till April 2016

Our visas (L1B/L2) expires end of May 2013.

My husband's company are still making decision on whether to apply for the visa extension, as they feel rejection rate for L1 extensions is more and as we have valid I-94 we can continue to stay in US for next 3 years.

In the meanwhile, I (L2) have applied for EAD and my appointment for biometric is scheduled in 1st week of april.

So my questions are -

1. If company initiates L1/L2 extension process before my EAD appointment, will it affect my EAD process in any way?

2. If L1 extension is rejected, can we still continue to stay in US with our valid I-94?
