How are the chances of H1 affected when working on CPT from these universities that offer CPT from day1?

Hi,

My OPT is ending in two months and my H1 didn't come in the lottery this year. I am contemplating getting into an accredited school that offers CPT from day 1. But if it affects my H1 chances or has other immigration related risks, than it won't be worth doing it.

Can somebody please share their views? Are there people who get H1s even after grduating from these universities? I have heard even if you get H1, problems come when applying for Green card because they do more thorough background check.

It will be a big help if anybody can tell.

READ THE FORUM ABOUT CPT.

No legitimate university will promise you CPT to work an arbitrary job from the first day. Fraud universities will NOT be accepted for H1B.

If you want to work, go home and use your degree to get experience and your employer can file next year. A US degree NEVER guaranteed a US job. In fact, you had to demonstrate your ties - and supposed desire - to return home after getting an education.

NO real university does this kind of stuff.

What you try is abuse of the CPT. It is a sure way to kill your career in the US.

Stay away from any "university" that advertises CPT. Stay even farther away from any "university" that advertises CPT from day one. They are ALL shady.

CPT is dead. TVU killed it, and **** and ******* made sure it stays dead.

That's 100% correct.

It's been repeated 100's of times by many people. CPT is not for Full time employment, its part of F1 program. And ANY school that offers CPT from FIRST DAY is nothing but abuse of F1 rules.
