Paystubs and W2

Hi,

I got my H1b approved in the last week of April. And I would like to go for visa stamping in Vancover around August-September timeframe. I plan on going after having 6 paystubs with a consistent amount at that time.

Does the immigration officer ask for more than 6 months of paystubs? What are the chances of being asked for more than 6 months on paystubs in Vancouver. My previous paystubs beyond that point have a lot of inconsistency with different amounts each month. But at that time I was on OPT. Also my W2 has a very low income for the whole year, as one can do voluntary work.

Thanks

Carry all the W2's and Paystubs for all the months..Be prepared for the reason why u have inconsistency in the pay stubs...(some thing like bonus or OT etc..) Also W2 amount should be more than or equal to LCA amount mentioned always. This is what VO looks for...

Sometimes, he may not ask for a pay stub at all. There are cases when he just asked for the last few pay stubs.

But we never know. Six months pay stubs sounds decent and I dont think you should have a problem.

Good luck

The LCA was filed jsut recently when the H1b was petitioned but due to being a cap-exempt case it started immediately. 2012 W2 does not in anyway include the current client also. Do you think there is any problem with this?

They want to see the paystubs to make sure that you were always in valid status. For H1 stamping, that usually means from the start of the H1.

If you were on OPT before, the requirement there is to not be unemployed for over 90 days, so you may need to have proof of employment for that.
