ksr105 Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 I came to USA on F1. after a year i changed my status to H1b, worked for a consultant about 2 years, in 2008 went for H1b visa stamping at Matamoros, Mexico. But, in 2010 changed my visa status to F1, (just crossed the USA boarder to Canada and while coming back to the USA reinstated my F1 visa(my F1 visa was still has valid date) and finished my Masters degree. now i am on H1b for a company, my question is can i go to Matamoros for H1b visa stamping. I heard that all new H1b visa stampings have to be done in their home countries only. i appreciate your suggestions.
shekar11# Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 No you cannot go to Matamoros for H1 B stamping because Matamoros is only for renewals of H1 B. In your case your recent stamping is F1 stamping.
