yrusvisa Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 If you have a valid Canadian visa, you definitely can. But check if you can get your stamping done in Canada before you leave to India. In case if there is any administrative processing when you go to Canada, you can request your passport and leave to India for vacation. Once the administrative provessing is done, you will receive an email to submit your passport for Visa issuance. While returning back, you can submit your passport in Canada, get it stamped and enter US. Thanks, Ravi
Veera1 Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 the 1st question you will have is why dint you go to interview in your home country, so be prepared for it. I wont suggest is as this may become even issue at port of entry. In my experience saw 2 ppl go deported. Their case was little different. They went to Canada took the stamping and went to India and came back to US from India and were deported at port of entry.
Guy_H1B Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 @Veera1 - I don't think it happens to everyone. I did the same couple of years before. I got the stamping in canada, went to India and came back to USA from India without any issues at POE. I guess it all depends on the circumstances and how well you answer to the questions at POE with all the evidence that you've have a job in US. As a matter of fact, I again went to Canada for my stamping few weeks before and I got the stamping successfully. But this time I came via road into US immediately after getting my passport with stamping. Again, no issues at POE, crossed the border and back to work. Just thought of sharing my exp so that people don't get scared unnecessarily.
