Freelancing on h4 for company in India

My fiancée is a journalist and I was wondering if while on H4 could she freelance for a company and get paid in India in INR?

on H4 she cannot work..PERIOD!!! if she does that both of you will be in trouble...you might get deported...her as well.

I am trying to understand why not. the employer is in india and she is not taking away the Job of a US PR or Citizen? could you provide more details? i asked a couple of other lawyers and they said it was OK. This is very confusing.

Simple: The US LAWS do NOT allow it.

Period.

A person in H4 status in the US can NOT work. Period.

That's correct, but on H4 you cannot work for ANY employer. It doesn't matter where that employer is located.

It takes some time to understand this.

Oh, and btw, there is a visa for foreign journalists to work in the US, reporting for their foreign employer. That's the I visa.
