H1-B Amendment and Visa Slot

Hi,

I heard from one of my friend that.Nowadays, H1B amendment has been very tough and even some of them got their H1B revoked. What are the chances if we file for amendment in getting the H1B. I still need to file for my amendment.In the mean while can I book a visa slot?????

Please kindly let me know from your's or your friends experience if faced anything of sorts.

I heard from many of them so far that they got their new I 797 with approval for their Amendments applied with all supporting documents correctly.

Yes in the mean while you can book a visa appointment slot but make sure to be ready to re schedule the appointment if amendment gets delayed.

I got RFE for H1 amendment but later approved. It depends on your documents.

Karthik, my client doesn't provide me with the client letter. All I could get is a email saying I will be not given a letter since I am a contractor. I have joined a job recently and it's been 2 months. Can we file for amendment at any time or is it mandatory that we should do it right after we get a new job. Please answer me with the questions.

Since you are working at the new client make sure your LCA is updated to new address.

Its better to make the amendment anytime before you are going to Stamping.

You can get H1 amended even if you dont have a client letter. Ask you employer to take care of the necessary documentation and provide him with what you can (email, timesheet etc). You can file your h1 amendment in premium processing if necessary.

When I changed my client location, I too got my amendment done without any issues. If you've proper documents, H1 amendment should be a breeze.

If client doesn't provide a letter, get a letter from vendor as a supporting document which is very valid.
