I tgought ill share this with you.

I went to My cic. this is the website for applying canadian visa online.first i did a evaluation to see if i am eligible to apply visa online, once i got a conformation that i can apply online, its a 20 minute process. i created my account on the same webiste and filled few forms and uploaded them to the same website

Feb 11th 2013 is when i submitten my application onloine and paid for my multiple entry visa the same day.I got an email from the canadian authorities after a month stating the application is approved. I then sent them my passport and a self addressed envelope, it took three weeks for them to send my passwort back

Applied online:11th Feb 2013

approval email:11th March 2013

passport sent:April 2nd 2013

got my passport back 25th April 2013.

So when can i expect my passport back ? (Any Guess)

Do i am safe as i have visa interview at Vancover on May 10 and i plan to travel back to India on May 17th

Friends plz suggest me what i have to do to visit back to india safely as my wedding is on May 25th . :(

It took exactly three weeks from the time they received my passport. I assume you sent them a return envelope too. based on my case comparing it with yours, look slike another week or so. But you will get you rpassport in the mail and thats it, you will not get any email notifications. It was frustrating because no one picks up the phone, no idea if thye got thepassport also?

I had to track my passport and search the persons name on google to find out she works at the canadian counsulate at NY. Thats how bad the whole process was. I guess they know what they are doing, my passport is in my hands with the canadian visa stamped.

Got passport request on 03/01/2013

@sri233 - how come you got passport request on March 01 when you applied on April 15.

You get passport request AFTER TRV online application. Something is wrong!!

Hi,

i applied online on may 3rd for my canada TR visa. just a question. whether you get an email(mentioned in the application) approval from the emabassy regarding the passport request or will they update the status in the online account (which u have to access using the GC Key) ?
