amantyagi Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 Hi all, I appeared for my H-1 visa interview today. Mine is a Emplyee-Vendor relation and i completed my Masters in US in 2007 and was visiting India for the first time in 7.5 years. After waiting for about 30 minutes i was called for visa interview. My visa was approved after the Visa Officer asked me the following questions: VO: Hello Me: Hello, Good Morning VO: Can i get your Passport? I handed over my passport to her. VO: What do you do? Me: I describe what i do. VO: Did you study in US? Me: Yes. After a pause i told her that my Masters degree is directly related to my job. VO: Where do you stay in US? I gave her the info. VO: Your visa has been approved. You will recieve notification via email and SMS on how to collect your passport in 3-5 days. Me: Thank you and have a great day. I have a question for the experts here on the forum. My original I-797 was stapled to my passport and it wasn't returned to me. Will i be able to get it when i go to collect my passport? Thanks!!
Bids23 Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 You should get it with your passport if the VO din't return after the interview. The immigration officer at POE asks for the original I797.
rahul412 Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 You will get it along with your passport.
amantyagi Posted April 30, 2013 Author Report Posted April 30, 2013 Thank you very much, Bids23 & Rahul412.
