nineballs Posted April 26, 2013 Report Posted April 26, 2013 Hi, My current h1b visa/I-94 is expiring on Sep 30, 2013 and my employer is filing for a 3 year extension. My child's H4 visa/I-94 is expiring at the same time. Now, my employer's attorney will take care of my h1b extension but is asking for $350 attorney fee (in addition to $290 USCIS fees) for extending my child's h4 status. 1. I was wondering if I could file for my child's extension myself and save on the attorney fee. Just wanted to see if anyone has this experience before. 2. If my H1b extension is applied this month, Can I file for my child's h4 extension next month (before the original H1 extension gets approved)? I don't want to wait for my h1b approval. I want to get started on extending my child's h4 status as soon as my application gets filed. Let me know. Thanks.
