My employer applied for H1 April 1st through normal process(not under premium proces) And my OPT ends on 6/1/2013 .I got my I-797C form . Now should I apply for STEM extension or not ? I am confused ?

does the I797 means I will get approved and no need to apply for STEM extension or irrespective , I should apply ?
