tazo Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 Hi, I will be travelling to india next month and I wasn't clear that should I have 2 visa appointements (1 for finger printing and 1 for visa interview), so I contacted support@ustraveldocs.com and they sent me the link for IWP (http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-visarenew.asp) and said i might qualify for IWP. this is my situation. This is my second time for a H1-B visa stamping, I got my 1st H1-B with employer X (2010, expires on sep 30, 2013) and I got stamping in 2011 for that, I recently changed jobs and I am not travelling to India again, so I need to get a new visa stamp for new employer Y. will I be eligible for IWP ? points that I didnt understand from the link support team sent me are If I am applying for an H or L (individual) visa, my prior visa in the same classification with the same petitioner is still valid or expired within the last 12 months. Is this saying I should have same employer (petitioner) ? My prior visa is not annotated “Clearance Received” or “Department Authorization”. What does this mean ? any help is appreciated. Thanks
cobra1232 Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 You changed employers, I guess* that itself disqualifies you from IWP from what I had read. But double check on this
tazo Posted April 22, 2013 Author Report Posted April 22, 2013 Thanks for reply guys. I actually sent the same question to support team on ustraveldocs.in and they replied as below My question: I got my first H1-B visa in 2010, which expires on Sep 30, 2013. I have H1-B stamped on my passport too. I recently changed jobs and I am with a new employer now and I am traveling to India and do I qualify for IWP ? I will still be under H1-B visa. their response: Please be informed that appointment is must at VAC (Visa Application Center), you do not require to schedule Embassy interview. You can go to VAC (Visa Application Center) with all the mandatory documents and the list for the same is available on the given link:
